Holiday blues…Back on track

The last month has been a busy one, summer holidays and having to work on through has meant my time has been pretty much filled to the brim….and then there were the family holidays away!!

Time away over indulging and spending quality time with your family is what holidays are about, and going away twice within a month has not done my waist line any favours. Why am I telling you this? Because I am human, because I do the same things as the rest of you when I go on holiday, and because I understand how hard it is getting back on track again post holiday.

That first gym session back was a struggle, realising that my hard work pre holiday, to feel as great as possible in a bikini had been almost completely undone. Did I cry? Nearly, I felt like it, but I also really enjoy the process of seeing the results happen, so I am equally looking forward to correcting the damage of 2 all inclusive holidays.

There is nothing worse than your clothes feeling a little tight, and right now, my jeans are pinching a little, but it doesn’t matter, I would do it all again in exactly the same way because I truly believe when you work hard day in and day out, you should get to relax and enjoy your time off.

So for now, my plan of action has been drinking my bodyweight in water, hitting the gym hard, and weening myself off the delights of all inclusive. It feels good to be getting back on track, its never easy, but it will be worth it!

Here is the quote: ‘An hour workout is 4% of your day, no excuses.’ Now, I personally find this quite motivating, I think it puts into perspective just how much time…

Forever a student…

Do you ever feel like the learning process never stops?  Just when you think its all over there is something new to learn?  The fitness world must be one of the professions that has a never ending learning process.  If we aren’t learning from our different clients, we are enrolling in new courses to better…

Food Is Medicine

Today I have found out that I have finally passed some more very important courses that I have been slaving away over the last few months. I can confirm I am now an Advanced Sports and Exercise Nutritional Advisor, and a Nutritional Therapist. These two courses have been extremely interesting and those of you…

Lets get motivated!!!!!

How cold is it today?  Stepping foot out of the door at 6.15am for PT this morning certainly woke me up!!  It is so hard to get motivated when its cold outside, the thought of leaving a warm house, a warm bed, a warm car…and hitting an air conditioned gym isn’t very appealing for some.…
